Welcome to our cattery’s adoption process page! We believe in providing a caring and thoughtful experience to ensure that our kittens find loving and suitable homes. We understand that adopting a kitten is a significant decision, and we are here to guide you through the process in a thoughtful and responsible manner.
At our cattery, we believe in the importance of proper socialization for kittens. Therefore, our kittens are ready to go to their new homes between 12-14 weeks of age. However, you can start reserving a kitten when they are approximately 6 weeks old.
The first step in our British shorthair cat adoption MN process is filling out our pre-adoption questionnaire. This questionnaire helps us understand your preferences and ensure that our kittens are placed in the most suitable homes. You can easily access and submit the questionnaire here (link). We strive to respond within one business day and will be happy to assist you and answer any questions you may have.
Once you have found a kitten that captures your heart, you can request to schedule a video chat to meet the kitten virtually. This allows you to interact with the kitten and get a sense of their personality. We want to ensure that the connection between you and the kitten is established before proceeding further.
To reserve a kitten, we require a nonrefundable deposit of $500. This deposit will be credited towards the total purchase price of the kitten.
Please note that we do not ship cats in cargo. Instead, we offer delivery by car to states bordering Minnesota. Alternatively, we will deliver to the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP). For kitten traveling in-cabin, we provide a carrier, vaccination records and health certificate from our veterinarian for the flight. We can also arrange for travel by a responsible carrier (price will vary by carrier and destination).
Upon receiving the deposit, we will provide you with our contract which includes a health guarantee. The contract outlines the responsibilities of both parties and ensures the welfare of the kitten. You can download the sample contract to review here(link).
Once you have reserved a kitten and are ready to proceed with the adoption, we kindly request that the full payment be made the day before the scheduled adoption day. This allows us to finalize the necessary arrangements and ensure a smooth transition for both you and your new furry companion.
Finally, the long-awaited adoption day arrives! We are delighted to see you welcome your new kitten into your home. We hope that your journey together will be filled with joy, love, and countless memorable moments.
In the event that there are no kittens immediately available, we offer the option to join our waiting list. After the approval of your pre-adoption application, you are welcome to be placed on the waiting list for a non-refundable fee of $50. This fee will be credited towards the purchase price of the kitten. We will notify you when new litters arrive, and you will have the opportunity to choose a kitten based on your position on the waiting list.
Please note that our cattery reserves the right to keep any kitten under observation or within our cattery for a designated period. This is to ensure the well-being and health of the kitten before they are ready to go to their new home.
